Amy received her Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1988. She has received advanced training in manual physical therapy from The Institute of Physical Art (IPA) during a year long fellowship. This approach focuses on combining the joint and soft tissue mobilization with Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) techniques.
In August, 2000, Amy became a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) through IPA and has been on their teaching faculty graduation. She has completed the 3-week program in Neurological Development Training (NDT) for the treatment of adult neurological patients. Amy has worked in a variety of settings which include outpatient, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, nursing homes, school system, and outpatient rehabilitation. |
